From the East

April is named after the Greek goddess of love, Aphrodite. And

we all know “April showers bring May flowers.” Those honorary flowers are the daisy and the sweet pea.

We welcome our newest Master Mason Perry Klahr to full lodge membership. In addition we announce our 2018 Hiram Award recipient Bro. Les Blake. His Hiram Award ceremony will be in August!

The Crow Canyon Rod and Gun Club had its meeting in March. Their program is listed elsewhere in this Trestleboard. Look to see if they are going to do something that would interest you. Come to the April 14th meeting and offer some suggestions and ideas.

April is another busy month with our Annual Public Schools Dinner and Awards on the 19th. Bro. Eric Unti is planning another fine evening with dinner, Jazz Band entertainment, and awards for two of Castro Valley’s exceptional teachers. Please make reservations with our Secretary. Then on Sunday the 22nd we will celebrate our Masonic Sweethearts with brunch at the Lodge and then off to Castro Valleys Chanticleers Theatre to enjoy the stage play “Little Women" Tickets are $18.00 but our Sweethearts are our guests. Please contact Chairman Perry Klahr (925-425-3360) for reservations.

We are also beginning work on a video history of Crow Canyon Lodge and the lodges that merged. Do you have a story you can tell or a memory to enlighten all. We will record a short video and post them to our Lodge website for all to see and enjoy. Details to follow.

The first week of April I will be traveling to the Midwest. As a result our Jr. Warden, Paul Rodriguez-O’Brien, will sit in the East at Stated Meeting. Show up and offer him your support!

We have two Brothers ready for their Fellowcraft degrees and the officers have shifted gears to meet that need. Crow Canyon is a happening place so make plans to attend our many functions.

Freemasonry is the world's oldest and largest fraternity. It is comprised of adult men (18+) of good character from every country, religion, race, age, income, education, and opinion. Its body of knowledge and system of ethics is based on the belief that each man has a responsibility to improve himself while being devoted to his family, his faith, his country, and his fraternity.
