The 19-century English writer Thomas de Quincey wrote that

“Freemasonry is neither more nor less than Rosicrucianism as modified by those who transplanted it to England.” Was he right? In an upcoming lecture British historian and long-standing Mason Dr. Christopher McIntosh will examine this question and show how Freemasonry and Rosicrucianism have interacted in complex ways over the centuries. The resulting insights will fascinate both Freemasons and Rosicrucians alike. Friday, May 18th at 7:00pm, Oakland Scottish Rite Center. Cost: $20. Attire: Business Casual. Open to Masons and Guests. 6:00 pm Social Hour 7:00 pm Introduction by Bro. Aaron J. French followed by Dr. Christopher McIntosh 8:30pm Book Signing and Social.

Freemasonry is the world's oldest and largest fraternity. It is comprised of adult men (18+) of good character from every country, religion, race, age, income, education, and opinion. Its body of knowledge and system of ethics is based on the belief that each man has a responsibility to improve himself while being devoted to his family, his faith, his country, and his fraternity.
