Brethren, your officers and I welcome you back as we embark on the 98th year of the founding or our lodge.

We have planned a very engaging and exciting schedule full of many activities that cater to all interests, and we hope to see you, your family, and your prospects in attendance at many or all of these functions!

The first quarter of the year will be very busy for your newly installed Officers, as we will be practicing every Thursday into March, in preparation for many upcoming events.

On Jan 23rd, we will confer the First Degree on Mr. Osman Ghani and Mr. Roger S. Hamilton. Both men are of high integrity, and have come to our stated dinners and showed interests in our lodge and our Brethren and their families. All Masons are encouraged to attend, and I hope to see many of our members welcome them by being present at this very important moment.

We will then switch gears and start practicing portions of the third degree for the DOSI (District Officers School of Instruction) which will occur on February 13, wherein the Officers will exemplify within our lodge. All Master Masons are invited to observe.

Next, we will then prepare to bestow a second degree for Bro. Tramaine Ellison on March 12th. I’ve been looking forward to seeing Brother Tramaine make his way towards the sublime degree, and with excellent coaching, he has since been patiently waiting on us to make this possible. All Fellowcrafts and Master Masons are highly encouraged to show him that Masonry is a progressive science.

Let me finish up these brief highlights of this year’s activities by announcing that the “Traveling Degree” will be held at the Mendocino Lodge No. 179. Preparations are under way now, with a tentative date of August 22nd. More news on this to follow soon.

It’s going to be an exciting year, and I hope to see you all very soon!

Its body of knowledge and system of ethics is based on the belief that each man has a responsibility to improve himself while being devoted to his family, his faith, his country, and his fraternity.
