Brethren:
At our April Stated Meeting I announced the 2019 Hiram Award recipient: . . .Brother Pat Quinn! His award will be presented on August 10th.
We were busy in April with our Annual Public Schools Event Chaired by Brother Adam Korbas. We honored Ms. Tamara Reneau (from Jensen Ranch Elementary School) and Ms. Candice Tigerman (from Castro Valley High School) for their outstanding work in 2019. Over 85 members and guests attended. We were also entertained by members of the Castro Valley High Madrigals Choir, under the direction of Ms. Laryssa Sadoway. It was a good evening for Crow Canyon Lodge and the Castro Valley Unified School District.
Then on Saturday April 20th we honored our Lodge Sweethearts with a brunch and “Canvas and Cabernet “ painting party. We saw some Sweethearts that had not visited us in quite a while. It was a fun day and enjoyed by all. Thank you Brother Perry Klahr for your thoughtful work organizing this event.
I will be out of town the first 10 days of May and our Sr. Warden, Paul Rodriguez-O’Brien, will be in the East. At the Stated Meeting, if the investigators submit their favorable reports, we will vote upon the application of Mr. Ted J. Rucker, of Castro Valley, to receive the degrees of Masonry. If elected he will receive his first degree on May 23rd. Don’t forget we serve a lite dinner before the degree.
On May 11th Crow Canyon Lodge will join the rest of our Castro Valley’s Masonic family (Eastern Star, DeMolay, and Rainbow Girls) in the Annual Rowell Ranch Rodeo Parade. We are borrowing the Masonic Home’s float so there will be lots of room if you would like to join us.
Then on May 18th and 19th we will conduct the Child ID program at the Rowell Ranch Rodeo. It is fun seeing all the family and kids and offering them a good service. We meet at the Lodge at 9AM on Saturday the 18th for Coffee and donuts before we load up all the equipment and head out to the Rodeo Grounds.
Then we will close out the month on May 30th with a Pot Luck dinner. This is always a great time to relax and visit with each other.
The Sportsman’s Club is taking reservations for a Salmon Fishing Trip on June 29th. Contact Sr. Warden Paul for details and reservations. There will be signup sheets at our May and June Stated Meeting dinners
