Fall is in the air which reminds me that we are closing in on our 100th Year! J and the Centennial Committee have a lot of great things in store for us all. I have to admit that I am a little jealous it did not happen in my year – but I am so glad we have J to walk us through the year and I plan to assist him all that I can.

Our Lodge Picnic was held on September 3rd at the Golden Gate Live Steamers facility in Orinda. We all enjoyed Roy’s tri-tip and sausages right off the grill with the usual sides of potato salad and chili beans topped off by those chocolate cookies we all love so much.

Thanks Roy, Mark and all those who helped prepare the meal - it was delicious. I cannot forget to thank our wonderful hosts – Bros. John Smith & Sammy Tamez and the rest of the Golden Gate Live Steamers’ members. We do - appreciate your generosity.

I wanted to thank all the brothers who attended the AAHMES Shriners Mounted Patrol Country Barbeque fundraiser on September 17th. As many of you know, we are a horse-bound unit that you see in local parades. I have been fortunate to ride with these tremendous brothers for a number of years now and I can tell you that their work raising money for the Shriner’s Hospital truly warms the heart. Thanks to our Lodge Brothers and members of the Unit – Tony Wilkinson, Junior Deacon Pat Quinn, Roger Glancy, and Roy Tamez.

Finally, our traveling degree is set for September 24th and I can’t wait! Off to Volcano, California we go! We will be conferring the Second Degree of Masonry on Brother Steven Dorough. I look forward to further bonding with all those who attend. I promise a full report in our next Trestleboard.

Freemasonry is the world's oldest and largest fraternity. It is comprised of adult men (18+) of good character from every country, religion, race, age, income, education, and opinion. Its body of knowledge and system of ethics is based on the belief that each man has a responsibility to improve himself while being devoted to his family, his faith, his country, and his fraternity.
