By Andrew Hawes —Master
With this article, my year serving as Worshipful Master comes to an end. How I have done over the past 12 months is something that each of you will judge for yourselves, but I have tried to fulfill my obligation to keep the lodge running, to rule and govern the lodge with regularity and be available to aid and assist all of our brothers, and I can leave feeling satisfied that I have done my best to achieve that.
I hope that if my time leading the lodge has left an impression on you, it is a positive one. I hope that some of my words written here may have led you to possibly changing something in your life for the better. Even more so, I hope that they have led you to changing something for someone else to make their lives better.
Remember when you do good works in the world, you help to push the balance to the right side of the scale. Commit yourself to the right things. Dedicate yourself to trying to improve yourself and improve the world. This is what Masonry is all about.
Be well, my brothers. Be kind, be happy, and be aware that you are a positive force in the world... and the world needs more of those.
