Getting back at it! Brethren, the time has come that we are slowly getting back to the lodge. Restrictions and safety plans are in place. Your officers and key pillar members of our lodge had been planning and working as we gear towards an in-person Stated Meeting come July. Some other activities are already in the pipeline but I’d rather have the Worshipful Master bring up the details.
We had our first in-person practice on May 13. It was good to see fellow officers face (mask) to face (mask). The practice went well, and as expected, we were all a little rusty and struggled to gain our bearings. However, with few rehearsals and with the help of our new Officer’s Coach, Wor. Ron Katz, we were able to regain our footing. Yes, just like learning how to ride a bicycle we were wobbly in the beginning, but as we went along, we all were having fun nailing the lines, gestures and footwork and gently laughing at each other’s mistakes. In my previous article, I have mentioned that one day, a time will come when we as a fraternity will rise from the ashes of this pandemic like a mystical Phoenix. Brethren, this is the time! You can either hear about it or you can be a part of it by showing up come July 1, 2021.
In July, we are also planning to our welcome our first new member since the lockdown. Come meet Mr. Randy Lehman on this historic evening. It will be interesting see what this looks like under the safety plan and guidelines. I will be sitting in the East and we hope to see more sideliners to support the candidate and the officers. If you have any concerns or questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to our lodge and its officers. All the best!
