"Crab or shrimp... crab or shrimp... I just can't decide!" -- Well, the conundrum is finally resolved - have BOTH at this year's hotly anticipated Crab and Shrimp Feed on Saturday, February 26th, starting at 5pm! (Of course, there is also chicken available, for any of you die-hard land lubbers out there.) This year there are only 100 tickets available for the Crab and Shrimp feed, and as of this writing 99 of them are accounted for, so if you were still hoping to get in on the action, reach out to our secretary ASAP, and see if you can get that last ticket, or get on the waitlist so that if any spots open up, you might grab them.
...but February isn't all about crustaceans! On Sunday, February 13 starting at noon, we'll be having a Super Bowl Party at the lodge! Wings and pizza will be served, so if you don't care about football, come for the food and the friendship!
January is often considered a month of new beginnings - new year, new resolutions - don't let February be where those resolutions end! It's easy to already start letting things slide - stay strong, if you can keep with a new routine for three months, it's much easier to keep with it forever!
It will be a busy degree month in February, as we have two double first degrees coming up, on the 10th and 17th - some very patient new candidates have been waiting for some time to get their degrees, and the wait is finally coming to an end!
February is Masonic Widow's month, and a dinner is planned to honor our lodge sweethearts on the 12th, just before Valentine's Day.
My parting thought for you from the South this month is this: make it a point to have a good February. We cannot control what happens to us, but we can control how we react to it, and how we let it affect us. Only you can decide to have a good day, week, or month- and you can decide to help someone else have a good one, as well, so focus on using that power, not only to your own benefit, but for the benefit of masonry in general - help everyone you interact with have a good month and spread the masonic love to all of our brethren in the world.
