From the South

By Alex Von Stade, PM — Jr. Warden

Brethren:

I want to wish all of you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year in 2025! December is named after the Latin word “decem” for ten or tenth as December was originally the tenth month of the Roman calendar, which was revised in later years. The month of December marks the Winter Solstice or the first day of Winter (also the shortest day of the year) in the Northern Hemisphere. In 2024, that event occurs on December 21st.

In closing, as this is my last article for 2024 as the Junior Warden for CCL No. 551, I wish to thank all of those individuals that supported me in this position in 2024. It was an unforgettable experience for me. Having served as the Junior Warden this year, I can now claim that I have held all of the five top offices in the Officer’s line at CCL No. 551 (Junior Deacon, Senior Deacon, Junior Warden, Senior Warden and Master).

Seasons Greetings and have a wonderful and event filled Holiday.
