Welcome to the final month of the first quarter of the last year of the first quarter of the first century of the second Millenium!

We will of course be enjoying corned beef and cabbage this month at our Stated Meeting, as we always do, to celebrate Irish-American heritage, and enjoy a meal that is one of my personal favorites.  The history of our nation is so intertwined with immigration as to be inseparable from it- other than those of us who can trace our heritage back to the indigenous people of the Americas, we are all descended from immigrants to this continent - I myself am proud to say that I can trace my lineage back to a sea captain in 1620 on my father's side, and a man who came over on the Mayflower as a bondservant on my mother's side - but I still have English and Scandinavian roots from which the American stock has grown.  As Masons, we are taught to regard all mankind as one family - the high and the low, the rich and the poor.  We are all created by one Almighty parent, and given that we are all inhabitants of the same planet, we should strive to aid, support and protect one another.

Now more than ever we should keep this in mind, every day.

My brother may offend me, but he is my brother, and I will still try to love him, and not cast him out.  Sometimes that is harder than other times, but that's why we are taught to keep our passions within due bounds towards all mankind.

Freemasonry is the world's oldest and largest fraternity. It is comprised of adult men (18+) of good character from every country, religion, race, age, income, education, and opinion. Its body of knowledge and system of ethics is based on the belief that each man has a responsibility to improve himself while being devoted to his family, his faith, his country, and his fraternity.
