Jobs Daughters, Bethel No. 1—Dublin

Job's Daughters is such a wonderful organization built on turning young girls into beautiful, strong women. A pivotal part in this journey is Grand Bethel: A convention in which girls can join together forging new friendships and strengthening their sisterhood. Grand Bethel has a place for everybody ranging in various activities from ritual and arts and crafts to performing. Hearing and experiencing the support each of the girls receive from their bethels whether or not they win is heartwarming to see how much they are loved. No matter where you go (the pool, nearby restaurants or the hotel) you can always expect to be showered with compliments and love meeting the most wonderful of people. The convention center always sparkles with shining smiles and dresses.

One of the most special of events is the dress exchange where girls give dresses to be exchanged and rehomed. Trying on a new dress can truly make somebody feel like a princess and being able to give somebody else that feeling is so rewarding. Daughters who are 18 to 25  become Grand Bethel Girls representing their bethels and being role models for all daughters. Seeing the Grand Bethel Girls on the floor is truly a magical experience; a dream of many at a young age, wanting to be the girls they so admire. Although the sessions may be long and at times exhausting, it doesn't mean there is no room for fun. Continuous dance breaks and friendly competition serve to brighten up the day and make the weekend a blast.

At the end of the weekend there is a giant celebration and all the girls can join in the festivities. This year, there were bounce houses, ice cream, dance rooms, mini golf and more. All of this helped wrap up the weekend in a night of fun and friendship and I know many girls can’t wait to return next year.

Job’s Daughters’ mission is to create confident young women, respect tradition, and shape the future. Our members learn invaluable skills that increase their confidence and prepare them to lead. We teach girls to use their voice.

Members are girls and young women between the ages of 10 and 20 who are related to or are sponsored by a Master Mason and believe in a higher power.
